একুশে বই মেলা থেকে ঔপন্যাসিক মোস্তফা সোহেল এর নতুন উপন্যাস 'নেতা' কিনলাম ! উপন্যাসের গল্পটি এরকম : সরকারি দল থেকে মনোনয়ন নিয়ে এমপি প্রাথী মুকিত হাসান নিজের নির্বাচনী এলাকায় এসেছেন ! জনসংযোগ করছেন ! কেন্দ্রীয় নেতাদের সাথে যোগাযোগ রাখছেন ! প্রশাসন থেকে শুরু করে জেলা নির্বাচনী অফিস পর্যন্ত খবরদারি করছেন ! নিজের দলের সন্ত্রাসীদের দিয়ে একের পর এক ঝামেলা করছেন ! ঢাকা থেকে আনিয়ে নিয়েছেন তার প্রেমিকা ঝুমকাকে ! একদিকে মদ আর প্রেমিকার সাথে আহলাদ অন্যদিকে এলাকার সিনিয়র নেতাদের নিয়ে শুরু করেছেন নির্বাচনী ক্যাম্পেইন ! একই নির্বাচনী এলাকা থেকে সত্রন্ত্র প্রাথী সৈযদ আলি এলাকাবাসীর কথা রাখতেই ভোটে দাড়িয়েছেন ! এলাকার বয়োজেষ্ঠ, পুরোহিত, শিক্ষক, সাংবাদিক, তরুণরা পর্যন্ত সৈযদ আলি কে সমর্থন জোগাচ্ছেন ! সৈযদ আলি'র মিছিল মানেই গনজোয়ার ! শেষ পর্যন্ত নির্বাচনে সৈযদ আলি'র জয়লাভের মধ্যে দিয়ে পরিসমাপ্তি এক অদ্ভুত আনন্দ দিয়েছে ! ভালো লেগেছে উপন্যাসটি ! 'নেতা '! পাওয়া যাচ্ছে বইমেলার বিজয় প্রকাশ এর ষ্টল এ ! বইটির প্রচ্ছদ করেছেন ধ্রুব এষ ! মূল্য ১৫০ টাকা ! যারা রাজনীতি করেন কিংবা রাজনীতি বিষয়ে যাদের আছে অপার আগ্রহ - তাদের জন্য এ সত্যিই এক অনবদ্য উপন্যাস ! আফজাল হোসাইন

Recently I have reviewed the novel of Mostafa Sohel titled ‘Neta’. In this Novel we found a leader named Mukit Hasan who lacks character or integrity. It doesn’t matter how intelligent, affable, persuasive, or savvy a person is, if he is prone to rationalizing unethical behavior based upon current or future needs, he will eventually fall prey to their own undoing. Optics over ethics is not a formula for success. Though nobody is perfect, but leaders who consistently fail are not leaders, no matter how much you wish they were. While past performance is not always a certain indicator of future events, a long-term track record of success should not be taken lightly. Someone who has consistently experienced success in leadership roles has a much better chance of success than someone who has not. This is the main theme of Neta which almost every reader would love to read. On the other hand, the writer bring another good leader named Syed Ali in the novel who is very popular among the general people. He is a educated and have ability to listen to people, think & take a fruitful decision. He always possesses good management skills & analyzing skills. This leader has a certain value & ethics to lead the country in a proper way & to mitigate corruption. finally people reject bad leadership. They reject tribalism. They reject mediocrity. They reject mis-performance. I am sure those who are involved in politics or interested to take part in the politics in future, they will really feel good to read this novel. Best Luck Mostafa Sohel!
