I have also reviewed the latest novel of Mostafa Sohel titled ‘Mukhos’ and reviewed the comment of Kaniz. I am not going to make any comment on Kaniz Alam’s write up on Mukhos but want to add something in a different way. I must say that women sought to overcome subservient roles in society and here is a sensual novel that glorifies the idea of women being abused. As a reformed feminist myself, I understand both the fear of female victimization and also the ideal of real femininity. The beauty and strength of womanhood is reflected in our inherent dignity. This book presents evil (specifically, lust and controlling women for personal pleasure) as entertainment. That is neither dignified nor beautiful. But I always appreciate the endeavor of writer who dealt with some other interesting topics apart from the said one in Mukhos.

Novelists are catching up with the times, framing their stories against the contemporary backdrop of economic and political turmoil. The hero of the novel has seen that many people who are living his surrounding simply wearing MASK. Doing bad things in the name of human being.. He wanted to push them, but finally he has lost his beloved! Though it seems to me a sad end, but the whole storyline is charming and delightful with lot of events. The practice of using social satire in novels is as old as Gargantua and Pantagruel. Like thousands of science fiction tales before it, Super Sad's twist is to take its story into the near future. But Sohel’s tale is not science fiction even though it not contains some yet-imagined technological advances. He has set among slightly plausible, highly exaggerated social circumstances and strong story line! I will definitely give thanks to Dhrubo Esh for his lovely cover design.. And grateful to Bijoy Prokash for publishing this kind of Novel.. It’s really fanciful! I would love to read this Novel again and again. Hope all the new readers will enjoy much from this Novel!

I have just reviewed the Novel styled “Mukhos’ written by Mostafa Sohel published recently from Bijoy Prokash. Whoever you are, whatever your life looks like, know that our understanding and compassion reach to you. It is impossible for you to be in a place that we have not experienced a place to which the hand of love and compassion does not reach. We have entered every darkness the soul can measure. But the light of truth lives even in the darkest of places. There is no such thing as total absence of light. Darkness cannot exist except in reference to the light. No matter how great your pain, it is measured in the degree to which you feel the love's absence or loss. All darkness is a journey toward light. All pain is a journey toward love without conditions. That is why you are here: to enter the darkness you perceive in yourself and others and to find the light which lives there. Once you find the light, no matter how tiny or insignificant it seems, your life will never be the same. A light bearer never questions the light s/he carries. And so s/he can offer it to others patiently and without fear. But most of the human being usually wears Camouflage. Sometimes you have to struggle with those odds. Anis-a teacher of university, got some miracle power and tried to remove the pains of others, but in return of that he lost his precious women from his life. Though the ending is quiet blue, but this novel seems to me bizarre in all aspects. I am sure all the readers will be impressed to read this fantastic novel. I only say that ‘Words and concepts will not open your heart. Only love can open your heart. When you open to the love that is available to you and extend it freely to others, the words that you need will be given to you. You will not have to struggle to know what to say or to do. When love is in your heart, the path opens before you. Actions flow spontaneously from you. There is no self-consciousness, ambivalence, or deliberation. For these are not the qualities of love. Love is unconditional and direct. It always finds the beloved, even when she is hiding or commit suicide! The Book titled Mukhos, published for Agortola and Kolkata Boi mela. I hope the Bangladeshi readers will also get this book from the stall of Bijoy Prokash during Ekushey Book fair scheduled to be held on February,2013.
