#বুক_রিভিউ #নলগোলা_টু_চরপাড়া মেডিকেল বাসিন্দাদের কাছে "নূর-ই-আলম ডিউ" স্যার খুব পরিচিত একটি নাম। ঠিক করে বললে বলতে হয়, নামটি আসলে সবার পরিচিত লেখার স্টাইল। স্যারের লেখার বৈঠকি ঢং, ফাঁকে ফাঁকে খিক খিক হাসি আমাদের কম-বেশি চেনা। বইটির নাম, স্যার সলিমুল্লাহ মেডিকেল কলেজ ও মিটফোর্ড হাসপাতালের নলগোলা থেকে শুরু হলেও বইয়ের শুরু আরও গভীরে। তেমনি নামের শেষটাও ময়মনসিংহের চরপাড়ায় নয়, সুদূর বহুদূর ভবিষ্যতে বাংলাদেশের সমৃদ্ধি আর সৌন্দর্যের স্বপ্নে। ফেইসবুকের কল্যাণে অনেকেই এই বইয়ের কিছু কিছু অংশ আগেই পড়েছেন। তবুও আমার নিজের প্রতিক্রিয়াটুকু জানাতে চাই আমি । বইটির রঙিন প্রচ্ছদ দেখে মন ভাল হয়ে যায়। বসন্তের চনমনে সকালের মত রঙিন। ভেতরে শাদা-কালোয় স্মৃতির হাতে ধরা ছবি। বইটি পড়ে আমার মনে হয়েছে, মেডিকেল, অ-মেডিকেল সব মানুষের জন্যই এই বইটি উপযুক্ত। আমাদের মেডিকেল-ওয়ালাদের মন হয়তো একটু বেশি হু হু করবে, প্রফের সময়ের কথা মনে হয়ে মুচড়ে উঠবে বুক, মাঝের হোস্টেল এনেকডোট গুলো পড়ে হয়তো হা হা করে পাগলের মতো হাসিও আসবে বেশি। বইটি গদ্যে লেখা, কিন্তু পড়লে মনে হয় ছন্দময় রঙিন ছড়া কিংবা নস্টালজিয়ার কবিতা। এই বইটার কয়েকটা নেগেটিভ দিক আছে, ১. বইটার পাতায় পাতায় বিরিয়ানীর গন্ধ মাখানো। বইটা পড়লে আপনার বিরিয়ানি খেতে মন চাইবে খুব। হাস্যমুখী পোড়া আলু, পাতিলের তলার মশলা মাখানো রাইস কিংবা বুলেট মরিচের জন্য মন উচাটন করবে আপনার। যারা ডায়েটে আছেন, তাদের জন্য এই বই পড়া বিপদজনক হতে পারে। ২. বইটার স্রোতের গতি হুটহাট বদল হয়। দেখা যাবে, কোন লেখা পড়ে হা হা হাসতে গিয়ে হঠাৎ করে বিষম খেয়ে যাবেন। দেখবেন লেখার বাঁক পরিবর্তনে হঠাৎ হাসির টার্বুলেন্স পরিণত হয়েছে অশ্রু বাষ্পের নিম্নচাপে। ল্যাক্রিমাল গ্ল্যান্ডে (অশ্রুগ্রন্থিতে) কত জল থাকে সেটা জানতে যে এনাটমি লাগে না সেটা হঠাৎ হঠাৎ বোঝা যায় এসব লেখায়। এইরকম লেখার জন্য আবেগ সুনামির সংবিধিবদ্ধ সতর্কীকরণ থাকা বাধ্যতামূলক হওয়া দরকার। সবশেষে ডা. শেখ মোহাম্মদ নূর-ই-আলম ডিউ স্যারের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা এত চমৎকার বইটির জন্য। স্পর্ধিত বচনের জন্য ক্ষমাপ্রার্থী স্যার। আসলে আপনার লেখা, আপনার চমৎকার বচন ও আমাদের প্রতি আচরণ এই ধরণের সমালোচনার দুঃসাহস দিয়েছে। .... ডা. লুৎফুন্নাহার নিবিড়

"নলগোলা টু চরপাড়া" Sheikh Md. Noor-e-Alam Dew I hope,that my review on the first book by Dr. Dew remains completely unbiased despite my admiration for the writer. Throughout the first fifty or so pages,the contents come off as uniquely endearing and close to heart.To achieve this level of closeness with the reader in such a short time is quite astounding to say the least.Subtle shadows of another accomplished writer Humayun Ahmed’s writing style lingers for only the first few pages but quickly dissolve into the writer's own style as the book progresses.The writer comfortably takes the reigns as the reader wades through his fondest memories. As a testament to the writers memories the book comes off as surprisingly vivid and detailed.To me personally, the parts about his childhood,campus life and miscellaneous chamber encounters were especially gripping.The memories were kept short and sweet for the most part and 100 pages in, I was already entangled well into the writers past.The parts about politics and the writers involvement both pay homage to his active political life and passion for the subject. The book equipped with tasteful quick humor, gripping writing style and the writers sheer heartfelt reminiscence kept me turning the pages. If I was to actually seek out faults,it would indeed be difficult.Perhaps,the very rare flow-breaking in the writing took some of the immersion out of the experience.But in all honesty, as a first literary piece,this much can easily be pardoned.In conclusion,the book in its entirety is a fantastic window to the writers eventful life and it will surely touch the hearts of those who have trudged rugged path of life alongside him.
